If you have a question that isn’t answered here, please have a look at our Constitution, Bylaws, and Gardening Policies. If your question still isn’t answered, you can email us at villagecommunitygardens@gmail.com.
1. How can I get a garden?
Please read our Gardening Policies (including our Garden Membership Agreement) and our How to Apply page.
If you are interested in gardening in the future, pease see How to Apply for details.
2. Will more plots become available?
At this time there are no plans to expand the garden. There is a turnover of the plots each year. Please see the City of Vancouver’s page about community gardens to learn more about other gardens in the vicinity of The Village on False Creek.
3. If I don’t get a plot this year, should I reapply next year?
There is no need to reapply; your name will be held on the wait list in the order in which your email application was received. When other gardeners decide to give up their plots, residents on the wait list will be contacted in order to see if they would still like to have a garden.
4. How much does it cost?
A small fee of $50 will be charged each year and will be outlined in the current Member Agreement, to cover the cost of bed maintenance, compost, insurance, and tool replacement. The Society may change this annual fee as necessary to cover all costs.
